APL Missions 'Covered' in Top Journals

It’s easy to find APL research in prominent journals. But in July — for the first time, according to the Space Department— APL discoveries were featured simultaneously on the covers of Nature and Science.
The July 4 Science includes a special section on the APL-led MESSENGER mission to Mercury, with 11 papers on data from the spacecraft’s historic January flyby of the innermost planet. The cover image of NASA’s Voyager 2 spacecraft on the July 3 Nature previews an article on data from Voyager’s APL-built Low-Energy Charged Particle detector at the fringes of the solar system.
